“体用”是中国传统哲学与思想史中的概念，也是武术文化体系中的重要脊线。作为一对哲学范畴、思维方式和分析框架，“体用观”对建构武术理论有着重要意义。运用文献资料调研和历史研究等方法对武术与体用思想相融的基本内涵、内在机制以及方法意义进行分析与阐释。研究认为，拳势“以练周身一体的内气与劲力为体，以练攻防一体的技击战术与技巧为用”，拳理“以静为体，以动为用”和拳法以“体道、味道，进而以武入道”的体认阶序共同建构起了武术“练体”与“练用”的基本内涵；“道器不二”的道艺体用观、“已发未发”的动静体用观以及“摄用归体”的拳势体用观集中反映了武术与体用思想相融的内在机制；武术的延续过程是在一次次“体用互变”的过程中实现了对自身的内在超越，其对体用思想的吸收与借鉴，不仅从思想层面印证了传统武术与中国传统文化的交融，更为重要的是为自身在整个传统文化延续与更迭过程寻找到了“因循”与“通变”的理据。

“Substance and function” is a concept in the Chinese philosophy and intellectual history， it is also an important part in Wushu culture system. As a pair of philosophical categories， ways of thinking and analytical framework， the dialectical view of “substance and function” is of great significance to the construction of Wushu theory. By using the methods of literature research and historical research， this paper analyzes and interprets the basic connotation， internal mechanism and the signifificance of the integration of Wushu and “substance and function”. The main conclusions are as follows： the internal breath and strength of body is substance， the tactic and skill of comparing with others is function in Wushu spirit； static is taken as the substance and movement as the function in Wushu theory， and ascent from technique level to Taoism in Wushu exercise， which form the basic connotation of “training for substance” and “training for function” in Wushu， when combined together. It is claimed that the concept of “unity of Tao and being”， the thought of “before or when the action is aroused” and the concept of “the function return to the substance” reflect the internal mechanism of the integration of Wushu and “substance and function” philosophy. The development of Wushu has realized its own internal transcendence in the process of “interconversion of substance and function”. Adopting the thought of “substance and function”， it appears to validate the blending of traditional Wushu and Chinese traditional culture at the ideological level， and it also verififies the “following” and “changing” of Wushu in the whole traditional culture background.
