中国体育历经“体育救国”到“体育兴国”，再到“体育报国”，直至当前“体育强国”新阶段，走出了一条特色体育发展道路。南京体育学院以近现代百年体育文脉的传承与发展，特色办学之路的变迁，“育人才、夺金牌、出成果”的显著办学效益，在地理空间完整见证了中国体育百年发展历程,折射出时代更迭的轨迹，反映出国家各阶段经济社会发展的需求。依循发展经验，新时代历史方位下的高等体育院校必须坚持中国共产党的坚强领导，坚持体育发展的自身规律，坚持中国特色社会主义发展道路，服务国家发展大局，发挥自身所长和独特作用，赋能“体育强国”建设，助力中华民族实现伟大复兴。

Chinese sports has embarked on a path of characteristic sports development from “sports saving the nation”, “sports rejuvenating the nation”, “sports serving the nation”, to the current new stage of “sports powering the nation”. With inheritance and development of modern sports culture in the past century, changes in the road of running a school with characteristics, and distinguished school-running achievements of “fostering talents, winning gold medals, and producing results”, Nanjing Sport Institute has completely witnessed hundred years of development of Chinese sports in its geographic space, which reflects the trajectory of era and needs of economic and social development at various stages of the nation. Based on development experience, sports colleges and universities in the new era must uphold the strong leadership of the Communist Party of China，adhere to the own law of sports development, persist in the development path of socialism with Chinese characteristics, target the needs of the nation, give full play to their own strengths and unique roles, empower the construction of a “sports power”, and help the Chinese nation achieve great rejuvenation.
