关于篮球运动传入中国的最早时间，学界长期存在争议。研究采用文献资料法、访谈法及逻 辑分析法对此进行了重新考察。研究辨析了“1895年12月8日传入说”与“1896年1月11日传入说”这 两种主流观点，发现其史料确凿性与论证严谨性均可能存在不足，尚难以完全令人信服。通过对现有原 始史料的挖掘与考证，研究认为：第一，追溯最早的篮球宣传报道与最早的篮球实践活动这两条线索有 助于厘清篮球运动传入中国的具体时间；第二，中国最早的篮球宣传报道，应为1895年12月28日《天津 基督教青年会布告》所刊载的篮球活动预告；第三，中国最早的篮球实践活动，极有可能是于1896年1月 4日下午 4点在天津基督教青年会会所的活动室内举行的趣味性篮球游戏，主要组织者和参加者分别是 天津基督教青年会总干事来会理和天津青年学生。这两大标志性事件均发生在天津，进一步夯实了其 作为中国篮球“摇篮”的历史叙事基础，为中国篮球史补充了关键早期史实，并具有重要的理论与现实意 义。基于上述考证，研究建议中国篮球协会等相关机构重新评估篮球运动传入中国最早时间相关表述 的严谨性。

There has long been controversy in the academic community regarding the earliest time when basketball was introduced to China. This study re-examines the issue primarily adopting the methods such as literature review，interviews， and logical analysis. It analyzes two prevailing theories — the“December 8， 1895” and“January 11， 1896”， revealing that both lack sufficient historical evidence and rigorous argumentation， which remains difficult to be entirely convincing. Through the excavation and verification of primary historical sources， this study finds that， first， tracing two clues related to the earliest promotional reports and practical activities of basketball helps clarify the specific time of the sport's introduction to China； Second， the earliest promotional report about basketball in China should be the basketball activity announcement published in the Tientsin Y. M. C. A. Bulletin on December 28， 1895； Third， the earliest basketball practice in China was most likely a fun basketball game held at 4 p.m. on January 4， 1896 in the activity room of the Tianjin Y.M.C.A.， and the main organizers and participants were D. Willard Lyon， director general of the Tianjin Y.M.C.A.， and Tianjin young students. Both of these landmark events occurred in Tianjin，solidifying its historical narrative as the“cradle” of Chinese basketball. This research supplements crucial early facts to China's basketball history and holds significant theoretical and practical implications. Consequently， this study suggests that Chinese Basketball Association and other relevant organizations re-evaluate the rigor of their statements regarding the earliest introduction of basketball to China.
